The Communist Youth of Greece condemns the arrest of Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi

In a statement (here in Greek) about the arrest of young Palestinian activist Ahed Tamimi by the Israeli Armed Forces in occupied West Bank, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), stresses out:

"The Communist Youth of Greece condemns the arrest of Ahed Tamimi by the Israeli army and demands her immediate release. The 22-year-old Palestinian fighter became a symbol of the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation, when the image of the then-teenage Ahed slapping the armored Israeli soldiers traveled all over the world, and for this reason she was imprisoned for 8 months by the Israeli state.

Communist Youth Festival in Athens concluded with an awe-inspiring political event

With an awe-inspiring political event held on Saturday 23 September in Athens, the 49th KNE-Odigitis Festival, organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), concluded this year's journey. 

In a fully-packed Tritsis Park, thousands communists, workers, people of every age, men and women, attended the event, where the keynote speaker was Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

Thousands of young communists participated in the 32nd Anti-imperialist Camp of KNE

The 32nd Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) took place in Nestorio, Kastoria, on 13–16 July 2023, with the participation of thousands of young people from all over the country.  
 
The area where the camp was held was the centre of the three-year epic of the Democratic Army of Greece (DSE, 1946–1949), led by the KKE

Solidarity with Kononovich Brothers! Protest of the KKE and KNE at the Ukrainian Embassy in Athens

On 6 July 2023, a delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), headed by MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos, and members of KNE protested at the Ukrainian embassy in Athens and posted on its door a statement of protest regarding the constant death threats against the two young communists, Aleksander and Mikhail Kononovich.

Communist Youth of Greece condemns the murder of 17-year-old Nahel by police in France

In a statement the International Relations Committee of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth wing of the KKE, refers to the murder of 17-year-old Nahel M. in Nanterre, France and the subsequent mass demonstrations throughout the country. The statement reads:

“The Communist Youth of  Greece condemns the murder of Nahel, a 17-year old boy of Algerian origin, on Tuesday 27 June 2023 in Nanterre, Paris, who was shot at point-blank range by a police officer because he... “refused to comply” during a traffic control.

The 49th KNE Festival to be held on 21-22-23 September in Athens: "...so that the light vanquish the darkness”

Under the slogan “With the KKE, for Socialism, so that the light vanquish the darkness”, inspired by communist poet Nazim Hikmet, the central events of the 49th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), commonly known as KNE-Odigitis Festival, will take place on 21-23 September 2023 in Athens.

The festival, which is traveling in many Greek cities throughout July and August, includes numerous political and cultural events.

Communist-backed Panspoudastiki KS triumphs again in Greece's university student elections!

Another back-to-back electoral triumph for the Communist-backed "Panspoudastiki KS" (All Student Cooperation Movement), which emerged first in the nationwide student elections held on Wednesday 10 May throughout the country's universities and technological institutes. 
 
The victory of Panspoudastiki KS comes just 10 days before the Parliamentary Elections that are due to take place on May 21.

For another year, thousands of students supported the lists of Panspoudastiki thus giving a significant boost for the regroupment of the students movement, especially during a period when the conservative New Democracy (ND) government tries to implement reactionary reforms in Education.

"Blinken Go Home": Greek communists demonstrated against US-NATO in Athens and Thessaloniki

With slogans like “NATO-US bases out of Greece” and “No participation in imperialist interventions”, thousands of young men and women, members and friends of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), protested in Athens against the visit of the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Greece.

Marching outside the US Embassy, the protesters sent a powerful message that the US “minister of war” is not welcome in Greece and demanded the immediate closure of all US-NATO military bases in the country, 902 portal reported.

The 13th Congress of KNE kicked off in Athens

Under the slogan “We are the spark that will turn darkness into light”, the 13th Congress of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), the youth wing of the KKE, began its works on Friday 10 February in Athens.

The opening of the Congress took place at the KKE headquarters in Perissos, with the participation of 28 Communist Youths and Anti-imperialist groups from all over the world. Among the attendees were representatives from the Embassies of Cuba, Vietnam and the Palestinian Authority, MPs and MEPs of the KKE, the President of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), representatives of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), trade unionists, professors, journalists, people of arts, athletes, etc.

49th anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising: Massive anti-imperialist rally by the KKE in Athens

The events for the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising culminated on Thursday 17/11/2022 with the mass rallies of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing (KNE), to the US embassy.

Thousands of people, workers, students, pensioners, men and women of every age, waving the flags of the KKE, demonstrated against the imperialist war and Greece's participation in it, the anti-popular policy that crushes workers’–people’s rights and achievements and turns the country into a US-NATO base for the profits of business groups. Similar marches took place in Thessaloniki and other major cities throughout the country.

Massive crowds at the Festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in Athens

The 48th Festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), known as KNE-Odigitis Festival, was successfully concluded on Saturday night at the fully-packed Athens' Tritsis Park following a large, awe-inspiring political event where the keynote speaker was Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE. The opening speech at the event was delivered by Nikos Abatielos, Secretary of the CC of KNE.


Thousands of communists, workers, people of every age, men and women, attended the event thus sending a powerful message of unwavering struggle alongside the KKE, against capitalist exploitation and imperialist wars, for socialism.

The 48th KNE-Odigitis Festival kicked off in Athens

The 48th KNE-Odigitis Festival, the annual festival organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), kicked off on Thursday at Tritsis Park, Athens. 
 
Thousands of people of every age, from every corner of Athens but also from other cities, attended the events of the first day which included music concerts, political discussions, stand up comedy and other activities.

The 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) continues with a wide range of political and cultural activities. On Saturday 17/9/22, the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, addressed a speech at the events in Thessaloniki. 
 
In his speech, he highlighted the strategic identification of the parties supporting Euro-Atlanticism and the choices of capital and referred in detail to the struggle of the KKE and its political proposal. Massive internationalist rally of the KKE in Volos sends powerful anti-imperialist message

A large political event, organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), took place on Saturday afternoon in the city of Volos. Thousands of KKE members and friends, workers, young men and women, flocked the central promenade of the city, holding banners and flags and shouting anti-imperialist slogans. 

The event marked the culmination of the festivities of the 31st Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) which takes place in the seaside village of Nies, Central Greece.

The 48th KNE Festival to be held on 22-24 September in Athens

Under the slogan “The new generation with KKE for the big, the beautiful, the sensational” (N. Beloyannis)- Socialism, the answer in the 21st century”, the central events of the 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece, commonly known as KNE-Odigitis Festival, will take place on 22-24 September in Athens. This year's slogan is inspired by Greek communist hero, Nikos Beloyannis, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of his execution.

Internationalist political event to be held in Greece on Saturday 9 July

An internationalist political event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 9 July in the Greek city of Volos, within the framework of the 31st Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE).  

The event will be attended by the leaders of four Communist Parties from Greece, Turkey, Spain and Mexico who will deliver greeting speeches.
